Alpo’s Neighbors Detail His Life In Witness Protection: “You Couldn’t Have Asked For A Better Neighbor”

Alpo Martinez lived a simple life in witness protection before he was gunned down, neighbors say.

The ex-drug-dealer-turn-snitch lived in the first-floor apartment of an old building on College Street in Lewiston, Maine when he got out of a maximum-security prison in Colorado in 2015. According to the Sunjournal, Alpo’s neighbors knew him as Abraham Rodriguez, a womanizer who mostly kept to himself and worked multiple jobs, including as a Pepsi distributor, and a construction worker.

After hearing of his past and ultimate death, A lady – Kaileigh Tara – who reportedly lived on the same apartment with Alpo said she almost didn’t believe the news till she saw photographs of his shot up truck.

“Oh, my God, that’s Abraham’s truck!” Tara said she yelled.

Another neighbor, Lance Brown said “We were heartbroken, this hurts. It really does.”

Alpo was gunned down in his hometown of Harlem on early Halloween. Martinez was shot several times in the chest, chin and arm while sitting in the driver’s seat of a Dodge Ram. Prior to his passing he often took trips to New York.

Nothing about him really stood out during the six years he lived at College Street. Neighbors say he was a mannered individual who was always willing to help out. His apartment was reportedly adorned with cheap furniture, however Tara said she often wondered how he was able to afford a nice truck, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a luxury sedan.

Alberto ‘Alpo’ Martinez was arrested in 1991 in Southeast DC and charged with, among other things, 14 counts of murder. He was eventually released in 2015, after snitching his way out of a possible death sentence or life without parole.
