I said a while back that fans are the true instigators of most rap beefs and this recent event helps buttress my point.
While Kanye and Drake have mostly settled for taking shots at each other on records and on social media. Insecure stans with nothing better to do are stoking the fire by bringing the feud to their doorsteps… Literally.
Photos surfaced this weekend of three different signs that appears to have been left by Drake fans on the front steps of Kanye West’s childhood home on the South Shore of Chicago. The signs featured words like “CLB coming soon” and F-ck Justin Laboy – a social media personality who has been the unofficial insider for everything “Donda” related.
One sign also refrences the shots Drake fired at Kanye West on Trippie Redd’s new song “Betrayal,” in which he called Ye “burnt out.”
“All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know
Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go,” he raps.
Ye seemingly responded to the jabs with a text that reads: “I live for this. I’ve been f-cked with by nerd ass jock n-ggas like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”
Kanye’s love for his childhood home was in full display at his third listening session for his elusive album, Donda on Friday. A replica of the crib was built inside Soldier Field and was the centerpiece of the event.
With Donda still in limbo, Drake is moving on with his CLB roll out and has seemingly announced a release date for the highly-anticipated album.
During a commercial that aired on SportsCenter on Friday morning, Drizzy kind of revealed that “Certified Lover Boy” will be hitting stores September 3rd.
