The Label CEO Connects with Key Glock and Snupe Bandz For “Blu Boyz.”
Young Dolph’s Memphis-based Paper Route EMPIRE is one of hip-hop’s premier independent labels, with a roster stacked with talent. Ready to showcase the independent empire he built, Dolph announces PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi, PRE’s first-ever label compilation tape.
The upcoming project is a milestone for the label that Dolph founded over a decade ago, a testament to his rare accomplishment: he’s a rap label CEO who signs artists with star power of their own, all without any major label involvement.
Dolph is ready to flex his A&R and CEO muscles, bringing a new crop of talent to the forefront, armed with Dolph’s sage advice and exquisite ear.
“Paper Route iLLUMINATi” features contributions from the label’s large and growing roster, with new songs by Key Glock, Memphis street favorites like Big Moochie Grape and Kenny Muney, and new signees like Snupe Bandz, PaperRoute Woo and Big Unc. It also welcomes Chicago’s Chitana to the fold, who introduces a heartfelt and raw perspective to the label’s roster, and rolls out the red carpet for Joddy Badass, a Brooklyn-born spitter and the First Lady of PRE.
The tape features production from Paper Route EMPIRE’s resident maestro Bandplay, along with Memphis mainstays like Tay Keith, DJ Squeeky, Sosa 808, and more. Not to be outdone, Dolph steps in for several verses of his own, contributing solo tracks and collaborating with his signees, including on recent single “Nothing To Me” featuring Snupe Bandz & Paper Route Woo.
Along with the announcement of the tape, Young Dolph shares “Blu Boyz,” a new single by Dolph, Key Glock, and Snupe Bandz. Over a entrancingly dissonant instrumental from Bandplay, Young Dolph, Key Glock, and Snupe Bandz execute a precise three-man weave, each rapper bringing their unique flavor of flexing to their verses: “All these blues in my pocket like I robbed a bank,” asserts Snupe Bandz.
PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi releases on July 30th via Paper Route EMPIRE. You can pre-order it here.
