These are the highest paid hip hop artists of 2020 according to billboard.
Earnings were down in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic as artists had to rely on streaming numbers following the abscence of live performances and tours. Recorded-music royalties — from sales, streaming and publishing — collectively grew 56% from $197 million in 2019 to $308 million.
Hip hop acts benefited the most from streaming numbers as this year’s list featured more hip hop artists than previous years.
According Billboard Post Malone was hip hop’s top paid artist of 2020 with $23.2 million, followed by Drake with $14.2 million. YoungBoy Never Broke Again is surprisingly third, while Lil Baby comes in at no. 4.
Kanye West makes the list at number 11. [editor’s note] the list is actually a Top paid musicians list, but we narrowed it down to only include rap’s highest earners seeing as this is a hip hop website and all. You can thank us later.
