Trick Daddy doubles down on Beyoncé comments, I said what I said.

Rapper Trick Daddy isn’t backing down on his comments.

Trick Daddy has responded to the backlash he received on social media following his unpopular comments about Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Speaking with Marc Lamont Hill on BNC News, the Florida rap icon attempted to add clarity to his comments by saying “singing and sanging are two different things.”

“To me, a singer is a Stephanie Mills, a singer is a Whitney Houston, a Mariah Carey, an Alicia Keys, an Adele,” he states. “To me a singer is somebody that can go to church and give you the word…I’m from the South so singing and sanging is different things.”

He said the comments stemmed from a clubhouse room with predominantly people from Jacksonville and palm beach, where they discuss unpopular opinions. While he acknowledges Beyoncé as a performer, he doesn’t think she can sang like the best of them. “Have I ever seen anybody perform better than her? No. But I don’t think she’s a singer…She’s a singer, but I don’t think she can sang. That’s my unpopular opinion.”

He later adds… “If Stephanie Mills and Whitney Houston is 100, Beyoncé is an 85.”

Trick Daddy caught heat recently for trashing Beyoncé’s talent and questioning Jay-Z’s relevancy in hip hop.

“Beyoncé don’t write music and barely can sing her motherf*ckin’ self, Beyoncé can’t sang!” he said, before adding “I’mma give an unpopular opinion right now: Beyoncé is to R&B what Jay-Z is to New York. That’s why they together. Jay-Z ain’t never won the greatest rapper alive. Whoever put him on a level like that?”

Trick’s comments were received by a flood of social media backlash from music fans including the Beyhive, who ripped him apart on social media. You can see some of the responses here.

The rapper’s Sunday’s Eatery restaurant was also spammed with negative reviews on its website.

Despite the attack on his livelihood Trick remains unbothered and says the trolls coming at him have nothing better to do. “Trolling only works when it affects ’em. I’m not affected by it. I don’t care who don’t agree with me…I don’t think that I said nothing to offend anybody.”
