Word on the streets is a new Kanye West album is on the way.
West marked his 44th birthday on Tuesday by dropping the first item from his Gap collection, a $200 unisex blue nylon puffer jacket. The jacket sold out within hours of the pre-order and will ship later this fall. More pieces from the collection are expected to launch later this month.
Fans of the College Dropout rapper flooded social media to give Ye his flowers and to share stories of how he has inspired them.
Kanye’s manager and Akon’s brother, Abou “Bu” Thiam also added to the excitement by teasing a new Kanye West album, which is reportedly titled West Day Ever.
“WestDayEver. Album OTW!” Bu commented on Gap’s Instagram post.
Kanye first used the phrase “West Day Ever” when he announced his Gap deal a year ago. We’ll have to wait and see if Bu’s comments mean anything. Kanye had been working on his oft-delayed album DONDA, the follow-up to 2019’s Jesus Is King. The project, named after his late mother, was slated to drop last July before being delayed several times.
