Cardi B officially calls it quits with Offset.
Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset after being married for three years. The Bodak Yellow rapper filed for dissolution of her marriage to Offset in Fulton County, Ga. on Sept. 14.
According to court documents obtained by E! News, Cardi and her legal team said the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and “there are no prospects for a reconciliation.” She is asking for child support from Offset and hopes the divorce “will be settled by agreement of the parties.”
Cardi is asking the court to award her primarily legal and physical custody of their two-year old daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus. Their divorce hearing is scheduled for November 4 at 10 a.m.
Cardi B, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, married the Migos singer Offset, real name Kiari Cepheus, in a secret ceremony in September 2017. Since then their marriage has been rocked with several cheating scandals.
In her Vogue January 2020 cover story, the “WAP” hitmaker explained why she stayed with the Migos rapper despite being fully aware of his numerous affairs with multiple women.
“When me and my husband got into our issues—you know, he cheated and everything—and I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me; a lot of women felt disappointed in me,” she explained. “But it’s real-life sh–. If you love somebody and you stop being with them, and you’re depressed and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated, you’re not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation. Then, if you get back with them, it’s like, how could you? You let all of us down. People that be in marriages for years, when they say till death do us part, they not talking about little arguments like if you leave the fridge open. That’s including everything.”
