Fresh off announcing his new album “God’s Country,” Kanye West lets off the project’s first single titled “Wash Us In The Blood” featuring Travis Scott.
Directed by Arthur Jafa, the accompanying video includes a collage of footage from recent protests, his Sunday service, Breonna Taylor dancing and his march in Chicago. The clip also includes a snippet of the moments leading up to Ahmed Arbery’s shooting in Georgia.
“They wanna edit the interviews (We)
They wanna take it to interludes (Me)
Cut a whole sentence to interlude (Together)/You know that it’s fake if it’s in the news,” Ye raps on the Dr. Dre mixed track.
“Wash Us In The Blood” is the lead single to Kanye’s tenth studio album God’s Country, the follow-up to last fall’s “Jesus Is King.”
