Rapsody debuts a new song and accompanying video.
Rapsody’s upcoming third studio album is a celebration of sisterhood. The album titled Eve will feature song titles referencing past and present iconic black women including Nina Simone, Oprah Winfrey, Aaliyah and Whoopi Goldberg.
She kicks off the campaign for the new album with “Ibtihaj” featuring D’Angelo and GZA. Produced by 9th Wonder, “Ibtihaj” is named after Ibtihaj Muhammad, a member of the U.S national fencing team and the first Muslim-American woman to wear a Hijab while competing for the United States during the 2016 Olympics.
The video premiered in Times Square includes appearances by GZA, Mary J. Blige, and Roxanne Shanté.
Due August 23 via Roc Nation Records, EVe also features a collaboration with Queen Latifah.
