Maka - Boxed In (The Story Of O.J Cover)

The Story Of O.J. is a clear standout on Jay Z's innovative 4:44 album. The song which samples Nina Simone's classic, Four Women, touches on racism and financial freedom.

Sounding smart in hip hop is not something most rappers want to be associated with, which is why I'm not entirely surprised we didn't see enough rappers adding their own spins to the controversial track.

With the song's message slowly being plunged for more booty shaking music, Lagos based soul singer, Maka decides to rework the Nina Simone classic to share some much needed elevation.

Her version titled "Boxed In" talks about everything a black person should be proud of and it's soothing to the ears.
