Kanye West Leaves Tidal Over Financial Dispute

The bad blood between Jay and Ye continues to intensify.

Kanye West who is one of the major players in Jay Z's Tidal company wants to leave the streaming service due to breach of contract.

The news comes a few days after Hov dissed his "Watch The Throne" partner On his "4.44" opener "Kill Jay Z."

"I know people backstab you, I felt that too/But this fuck everybody attitude ain’t natural/But you ain’t the same, this ain’t Kumba ‘Ye," he raps. "But you got hurt because you think kumbaye/You give him $20 million without blinking/he gave you 20 minutes on stage, fuck what was he thinking?/'Fuck wrong with everybody?’ is what you saying/But if everyone is crazy, you’re the one that’s insane"

TMZ reports that Kanye had been unhappy with Tidal for a long time , mainly because the company owes him over $3 million. The rapper's "Saint Pablo" album released exclusively on Tidal reportedly generated over a million new subscribers, for which he was supposed to get a bonus in return, but Tidal still hasn't paid. He also claims Tidal went back on their promise on reimbursing him for music videos.

Both parties tried to resolve the conflict in the past but failed to reach a compromise. Kanye wants out of his contract and has sent a letter through his lawyer declaring his intentions.

Tidal are not backing down either. Lawyers for the company say they still have a contract with kanye West and will sue if he tries to move on to a different streaming service.

Sources close to Kanye say the rapper is willing to walk away, but he's already lawyered up for a counter suit just in case Tidal deliver on their threat.

Kanye West in the past has voiced his annoyance, on how Tidal and Apple's beef is "fucking up the music game."

"Fuck all this dick swinging contest. We all gon be dead in 100 Years. Let the kids have the music." He tweeted. "Apple give Jay his check for Tidal now and stop trying to act like you Steve."

His last rant on the subject was during his Saint Pablo concert in Seattle last year. Kanye once again was tired of Jay Z, Tidal & Apple's "bullshit."

"Let me tell y’all something. There will never be a Watch the Throne 2. You know why? Because that’s the reason why I wasn’t on the song ["Pop Style"]. I wasn’t on the song because of Hov. Because of some Tidal/Apple bullshit. This shit get me tight every time I perform this motherfucker. Y’all didn’t get what y’all was supposed to get with me and Drake on this song because of some Tidal/Apple bullshit. This shit got me tight. Every time I perform this song I think about the shit. I think about the politics and the bullshit. I think about how hard I go for music, for art, for y’all, for the fans—how hard we go.

I started freestyling to it. Jay thought of a couple lines. I said, 'Man, just go ahead and throw that on there. They’ll be so surprised. He probably wouldn’t expect you to be on there.' And [Drake] was like, 'Oh shit, The Throne is on this shit!' Then Jay thought about it and, out of respect for Meek Mill, he ain’t want to be on the track. And I said, 'Look, I’ll call Drake, I’ll call Meek, I’ll call y’all…we gotta let people have this song!' But then it went out of that territory and it went into some Tidal shit, some political shit, some shit about percentages on songs. I can’t take this shit, bro! Our kids ain’t never even played together. Run that shit."

Well, there you have it. Will a Jay Z vs Kanye West beef be good for hip hop? Let us know.
