Maka begs for forgiveness on her new heartfelt track featuring Boogey
The song produced by the prolific Teck-Zilla finds the Nigerian at her soulful best, with introspective lyrics that are sure to make you rethink your imperfections.
"Who are you when nobody's watching? she asks.
"Who are you when the doors are shut?
Who are you when nobody's looking?"
Just as you start to feel guilty, the talented soul singer gets you even more in your feels with an apologetic hook leaving you with no room to hide. "Father, I have sinned/Forgive me father"
Boogey who this track was absolutely made for spews some of his most personal lyrics in recent memory. "It's been 5 years, it's been 5 years/ Since I confessed and you have no idea/ How my life's messed up and I been crying/ But now I have freshened up and all those dry tears/forever go unnoticed." It gets better so be sure to turn your levels up.
Here's what Maka had to say about the track.
"Like most of my songs, I wanted to write about something everyone could relate to. This song talks about the vulnerability of man and how imperfect we are. I had always wanted to put that in a song so when Teck played the beat, I knew that was the beat for the concept."
"Sinner" serves as her first single of 2017 and it was worth the wait. Stream it below and cop it here.
